Paradise Blue

The third play in MacArthur Genius award-winning playwright Dominique Morisseau's Detroit cycle, Paradise Blue is set in Detroit's Black Bottom neighborhood as it is being gentrified in 1949. Blue, a brilliant jazz musician, is torn between remaining in Black Bottom or leaving behind his traumatic past. Paradise Blue is a passionate, timely look at what is lost—and what is gained—by the people of a city in transition.
